James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion, 2011 Edition.
“The consistency of its wines across a wide range of price points is wholly admirable.”

Aromatic forest berries with dark plums and hints of French oak.

Fresh and juicy Satsuma plum and blackberry fruit characters, with a fine, grainy tannin.

A cool vintage like 2009 affects ripening in a number of ways with the fruit likely to have more spice and subtleties than warmer seasons. Grapes were harvested at night and inoculated for a warm ferment over eight days before gentle pressing for malo-lactic fermentation and then maturation. Merlot is blended into the wine to give more weight on the mid palate and soften the tannins.

Up to 5 years.

Enjoy with a hearty lamb shank or a mature cheese platter

Batches of Chardonnay were harvested cold at night before gentle pressing for settling. Juice was then racked in a reductive manner to ferment. A variety of yeast were used to enhance complexity and to encourage texture which is further improved with periodic lees stirring. A small amount of maturation in French oak gives support and length.
